NWS New York (Upton) NY SKYWARN Information:

SKYWARN is a nationwide program of the National Weather Service. SKYWARN is sponsored by local NWS offices and consists of over 250,000 trained volunteers from the general public who observe and report hazardous weather.
Bergen County is 1 of 5 NJ Counties in the County Warning Area (CWA) of the New York (Upton), NY National Weather Service Forecast Office (NWSFO) which is located on the grounds of the Brookhaven National Laboratory in Upton, NY (please refer to the NWS New York (Upton) NY SKYWARN Program Website for complete information on their SKYWARN Program) 
The New York (Upton), NY NWSFO CWA covers the 5 NJ Counties of Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Passaic and Union, as well as New York City, Long Island, the Lower Hudson Valley of New York, Southern Connecticut and the surrounding Coastal Waters. The other 16 NJ Counties are in the CWA of the Mt. Holly, NJ NWSFO (please refer to the NWS Mt Holly NJ SKYWARN Program Website for more information on their SKYWARN  Program).
